ART·spiration: Eadweard Muybridge

Happy birthday to Eadweard Muybridge, an English photographer known for his pioneering work in photographic studies of motion, and early work in motion-picture projection!

You may known him best for his studies of animal locomotion, which used multiple cameras to capture motion in stop-motion photographs. He later used these studies to invent the zoopraxiscope, a device for projecting motion pictures that pre-dated the flexible film-strip used in modern film.

What an inspiring man!
