ART·spiration: Spring

April showers bring May flowers and we sure are enjoying the last days of Spring! Today, EFA is pulling inspiration from the weather, and Jeff Koons' Puppy.

Puppy, a staggering 43 ft West Highland White Terrier puppy topiary, is created from a variety of flowers including Marigolds, Begonias, Impatiens, Petunias, and Lobelias.

The sculpture has traveled all over the word, and was purchased in 1997 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. It is currently installed on the terrace outside the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

What an incredible encapsulation of spring!

ART·spiration: Lucian Freud

Today we are featuring Lucian Freud, a contemporary English painter noted for his examination of the relationship between artist and model.

“Freud’s thickly textured brushwork is stunning – a great study of technique. Many painters we have worked with here at EFA have been influenced by his style.” – Katy Schmader, Creative Coordinator
